single elephant scales

This antique style scale was handmade in Myanmar. The wooden casket is hand carved with an elephant on the outside. The scale set also consists of the scales with stick and 6 elephant figurines in different sizes. In the past, scales in this style were used in many parts of Asia to measure opium. The elephant scales are an exceptional decorative piece.

The wooden box measures 21.5 cm x 8 cm x 6 cm.

Delivery incudes a single elephant scale set incl. wooden box, scale pan and 6 elephant figures. 

Please note: There are rust particles on the metal parts of the scale bowl and suspension, which imitate the "old" and "used" look in antique sense.
